Getting Started

Install Campaignly and run your first promotion in five minutes.

Welcome — this guide gets you from “I just heard about Campaignly” to “my first discount is scheduled and on autopilot” in about five minutes.

What you need

  • A Shopify store on any plan (Basic, Shopify, Advanced, Shopify Plus, or a dev store).
  • Admin access to that store (you need to be able to install apps).
  • A handful of products to discount — even one is fine.

Install Campaignly

  1. From your Shopify admin, open the Shopify App Store and search for Campaignly.
  2. Click Install and review the requested permissions:
    • read_products and write_products — Campaignly schedules price changes by writing back to your product variants.
    • read_orders — used by the analytics dashboard to compute revenue uplift after a campaign ends.
  3. Approve the install. Shopify hands you off to Campaignly’s onboarding screen.

You start on the Free plan automatically — no card, no trial countdown. Run a campaign right away, and upgrade from the Billing screen whenever you need higher limits.

Tour the admin

The Campaignly admin embeds inside your Shopify admin (so you never leave Shopify to manage promotions). The four screens worth knowing:

  • Campaigns — the list of everything scheduled, running, or archived. This is where you spend 80% of your time.
  • Settings — store-wide preferences: storefront countdown widget, email preferences, override behaviour.
  • Audit log — every price change Campaignly made on your behalf, with a “what / when / why” trail you can hand to your accountant.
  • Billing — your current plan, usage, and upgrade path.

Your first campaign

Head to the Creating Your First Campaign doc for the step-by-step. The short version: click New campaign on the Campaigns page, pick products, set discount + start/end times, save. That’s it.

What happens next

  • Campaignly stores a “snapshot” of your current prices so it can restore them when the campaign ends. You never lose your originals.
  • At the campaign’s start time, our worker pushes discounted prices to Shopify in batches (typically within 15 seconds for hundreds of variants).
  • At the end time, prices revert automatically. No 11pm Sunday alerts to drop everything and undo the sale.
